Know Your Investments - Classes Starting Up Soon!

For years, we enjoyed teaching investment classes through Rockford Public Schools, Adult Enrichment Course. Our class was called, Know Your Investments. After running it for 5 years, COVID hindered the class turnouts and online based classes weren’t very popular. We stopped offering the classes in 2021 and have been away since. With busy family schedules, we took a break until finding it pulling us back in 2025.

We’re excited to announce Know Your Investments will be back for Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Below are a list of dates and a course outline. Class registration will be available in the coming months directly through the Rockford Adult Enrichment course catalog and online. We hope to see you! These classes are offered at no cost.

Course Outline:

This class will provide an unvarnished perspective as to why investment products may be recommended, how to tell if your investments are in your absolute best interest, as well as what to look for in a prospectus. The class also focuses on how to tell the difference between the suitability and fiduciary standard, how to discover the true costs of your portfolio, how financial advisers get paid, and how different investment products operate. Participant questions are encouraged. The fee includes one spouse or guest. 

Instructors: Fred Iacovoni AWMA® and Tyler Kotlarz CFP® are fiduciary advisors with Synergy Wealth Management LLC, a local independent fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). Fred and Tyler are staunch advocates for transparency in the financial industry and the fiduciary standard.
